Information Foraging: feed your users and gain customers

Developed at the Palo Alto Research Center, information foraging uses the analogy of wild animals gathering food to analyze how humans collect information online. Humans use the same foraging mechanisms that evolved to help our animal ancestors find food, to find information on line.
The big difference between web sites and wild animals is that web sites want to be caught. The main message a web site must evidence is that its content looks like a nutrition mean and signal that it’s easy to catch. Users will leave if the content is good but hard to find or if it’s easy to find but not satisfying.
When we develop a web site our designers always follow these guidelines in order to convince users that the web site is worthy of their attention and make it easy to find, applying all the necessary search engine optimization strategies.
